Website & donation policy

Terms & Conditions.

Terms governing use of this website and donations made to SCOPE through available payment channels.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using scope-india.org, submitting an enquiry or making a donation through a payment option made available by SCOPE, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the related Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. About SCOPE

Society for Community Participation and Empowerment (SCOPE) is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1960, with registration number SOR/141 dated 13 September 2000, and is headquartered in Dharwad, Karnataka, India.

3. Website information

SCOPE makes reasonable efforts to keep programme, organisational and donation information accurate and current. Historical programme descriptions, impact figures, photographs and archived material may relate to earlier periods and should not automatically be treated as current-year data.

SCOPE may update, correct, suspend or remove website content without prior notice.

4. Donations

Donations are voluntary contributions intended to support SCOPE's charitable and programme activities. Where a donor selects a programme or purpose, SCOPE will make reasonable efforts to apply the contribution accordingly. Where operational, statutory or programme circumstances require, funds may be applied to closely related charitable purposes or organisational needs consistent with SCOPE's objectives, subject to applicable law and donor restrictions.

The donation page currently states a maximum of INR 1,00,000 per transaction for the online donation selection interface. SCOPE may revise transaction limits or payment options where required.

5. Payment processing

Online transactions may be processed through a third-party payment gateway, acquiring bank, card network, UPI service or other banking channel. A payment is treated as successfully received only after SCOPE or its payment service provider receives successful transaction confirmation.

SCOPE is not responsible for failures caused by the donor's bank, card issuer, UPI service, network outage, payment gateway downtime, incorrect information entered by the donor or other systems outside SCOPE's reasonable control.

6. Failed, pending or duplicate transactions

If a transaction shows as failed or pending but the donor's account appears to have been debited, the donor should first allow the banking or payment-gateway reconciliation process to complete. If the amount is not automatically reversed or a duplicate payment has occurred, the donor may contact SCOPE with the transaction reference and supporting payment information.

7. Receipts and tax benefit

Donation acknowledgements or tax-related receipts are issued subject to receipt of the contribution, availability of complete and correct donor information, and applicable statutory requirements. Any tax benefit depends on the donor's eligibility and the law applicable to the contribution. Donors should retain their transaction record and consult their own adviser where necessary.

8. Foreign contributions

Foreign donations are accepted only through channels and under conditions permitted by applicable Indian law and regulatory requirements. SCOPE may request additional donor or remittance information before accepting, recording or acknowledging a foreign contribution.

9. No sale or delivery of goods

Unless a specific page expressly states otherwise, online payments made through the Support SCOPE section are donations. They do not constitute a purchase of goods, and no physical product or shipping service is promised in return for a donation.

10. Permitted website use

You may use the website for lawful informational, communication and donation purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with website security, submit malicious content, misuse forms, impersonate another person, or use the website in a way that violates applicable law.

11. Third-party services and links

The website may link to banks, payment processors, partner organisations, publications or other third-party services. Those services are controlled by their respective operators, and their own terms and privacy practices apply.

12. Refunds and cancellation

Refund requests are handled according to SCOPE's Refund & Cancellation Policy. Donations should be made only after the donor has verified the amount and intended purpose.

13. Changes to these terms

SCOPE may update these Terms & Conditions when payment methods, website functionality, programme requirements or applicable obligations change. The latest version published on this page will apply from its stated update date.

14. Contact

Questions regarding these terms may be sent to info@scope-india.org or addressed to SCOPE at Betadur Compound, Behind Govt. Primary School No. 11, Malmaddi, Dharwad, Karnataka 580007, India.
